The HomeGuard Gold Seal is the only contractor credential in New Jersey that cannot be purchased — only earned. Pre-qualified leads. Milestone escrow. Level playing field. A standard you can be proud of.
HomeGuard was built to structurally eliminate these pain points — not manage them.
Not a compliance checkbox. A genuine business education designed to make you a better operator — and a more profitable one.
The state requires 70% to hand a contractor a license. HomeGuard requires 70% just to earn the entry-level credential — and 90% to earn the Gold Seal. We start where the state stops.
Contractors who do not meet the minimum score may retake the Academy exam after a six-month waiting period — the same standard used by NJ electrical, plumbing, and HVAC licensing boards. Contractors who earn HomeGuard Certified and want to upgrade to Gold Seal may also retake after six months. Use that time to apply what you learned. Most contractors who retake come back stronger.
A contractor who earns HomeGuard Certified, spends six months applying what they learned, retakes the exam, and upgrades to Gold Seal — that contractor tells every other contractor in their network what happened to their lead volume. That is the credential working exactly as designed. Both tiers have a place on this platform. Only one gets exclusive matching.
Every benefit below is structural — built into the platform, not dependent on individual negotiation.
One contractor per project. No bidding wars. Pre-scoped, budget-verified, expectation-set. You show up to close.
Funds held before you start. Released as work is verified. No chasing payments. No bad debt. Ever.
Only licensed, insured, Gold Seal certified contractors in the network. No unlicensed operators. No race to the bottom.
Written arbitration backstop with Success Institute as neutral arbitrator. Your milestone records and photo logs are already filed.
Every homeowner received an independent estimate before you arrived. They know your number is fair. You start from trust.
The credential that signals you earned the standard — not paid for it. Visible proof that separates you from every competitor.
Here is exactly how a HomeGuard project goes from homeowner submission to your phone ringing.
The homeowner completes a detailed project submission — scope, location, timeline, budget. HomeGuard reviews it, prepares an independent market-rate estimate, and delivers it to the homeowner before any contractor is involved.
HomeGuard reviews the trade required, the project location, and available Gold Seal certified contractors in that category. One Gold Seal contractor is matched directly. No auction. No competitive bidding. The homeowner receives one certified recommendation.
You receive a project brief through the HomeGuard portal containing the full scope of work, the independent estimate, the homeowner's confirmed budget, the project address, and the timeline. Everything you need before the first conversation.
You have 36 hours to respond through the HomeGuard portal. The homeowner already knows what the project costs and has been matched to you specifically. You are not competing. You are not educating. You are closing.
When a homeowner submits a project HomeGuard matches them to one Gold Seal contractor in that trade and geography. No other contractor sees that lead. You have exclusive access. The homeowner is yours to close.
Certified contractors are listed in the HomeGuard directory where homeowners can find and contact you directly. You also receive referrals when no Gold Seal contractor is available in your trade or geography. Score 90%+ at your six-month retake and your matching access upgrades immediately.
Adjust the numbers to match your business. Conservative assumptions throughout.
No surprises. No hidden steps. This is the complete path from the day you apply to the day your first HomeGuard project brief arrives.
